Best Cafes and Restaurants in Imsouane

Last Updated on 10th December 2025 by Jessie

Wondering where to eat in Imsouane? This small surf town doesn’t have a huge dining scene, but it does have a few great spots for seafood, tagines, and decent coffee.

Unfortunately, many of the best cafes and restaurants in Imsouane were demolished by the Government in early 2024. (Read more about that here). But there are still a few great places scattered around the village that made it out of the wrath unscathed. Whether you’re after a good burger, traditional Moroccan cuisine or a post-surf beer, here are the best cafes and restaurants in Imsouane, Morocco.

A quintessentially Imsouane lunch.
  1. First and foremost, get travel insurance with SafetyWing. They’re super affordable and one of the few companies that let you buy insurance mid-trip.
  2. Book the dreamiest Moroccan abode on Booking.com. They’re my go-to for accomodation because you can save loooaads with their loyalty discounts.
  3. Or if you’re after the one-stop-shop, BookSurfCamps is the best place to find surf camp packages in Morocco.
  4. Find the best local tours with GetYourGuide. It’s the easiest way to visit places like Paradise Valley or Timlalin Dunes.
  5. Make sure you’re connected as soon as you get off the plane with Airalo’s Moroccan eSIM.
  6. Set up a Wise travel card to save on international transaction fees.
  7. And if you’re working online (or want to watch Netflix in your downtime) I highly recommend getting set up with a SurfShark VPN.

And you’re sorted.

Best Cafes and Restaurants in Imsouane

Momo’s Coffee

Best for Coffee with a View

Momo’s Coffee is the ideal spot to while away a few hours between surfs. The view of Cathedrals while you sit with a coffee or pot of mint tea is unsurpassed. There are loads of tables spread out over the yard, with a few shady trees, making it the best cafe in Imsouane to perch up and watch the carnage in the surf below.

They specialise in freshly grilled seafood, which feels apt when you’re looking out at the vast Atlantic Ocean below. But be prepared to bat away the resident cats between bites.

Recommend: Nous Nous (half milk – half espresso) or a pot of mint tea. Or grilled fish.

Bay View

Best for Breakfast

A day on Morocco’s surf coast is best started with a Berber omelette, a coffee and ocean views. Bay View delivers on all fronts. The restaurant is one of a handful overlooking the much-celebrated Magic Bay. I found Bay View to be the cheapest of the bunch. For your best shot at the rolling righthander, I recommend beating the crowds with a pre-brekky surf.

Recommend: Berber omelette.

Les 3S

best for burgers

When you’ve had your fill of tagines and couscous, Les 3S is your best restaurant in Imsouane for a Western fix. Their burgers are the best-rated in town. Or for something a little fresher, they make a mean poké bowl with prawns and mango.

Recommend: Double burger or Moroccan grill.

Restaurant Les Vagues

Best for Seafood

Despite its claim to fame as having the best longboard wave in North Africa, Imsouane is first and foremost a fishing village. If you want to feast on some fresh seafood during your Moroccan sojourn, there’s no better place to do so. Restaurant Les Vagues serves a selection of the freshest catch of the day. So much so, that you can watch the fishing boats roll in as the smoky smell of grilled fish wafts behind you.

Recommend: Mixed seafood grill with fries, Moroccan salad and fresh bread.

Imi Bay

Best for a Sunset Burger

Imi Bay used to be my go-to spot for a sunset beer in Imsouane. Alas, they no longer have the licensing to sell alcohol. Regardless, Imi Bay and its like-minded neighbour Olo Surf & Nature are still great venues for watching the sunset over The Bay. Both have similar menus with a mix of Moroccan cuisine, fresh seafood dishes, and the usual burger/pizza/pasta offerings.

Recommend: Meat egg burger for 90dh.

Cafe Restaurant Chez Karim

Best for Local Moroccan Cuisine

Chez Karim is a fan favourite in town for their traditional Moroccan food and traditional Moroccan charm. It’s the best restaurant in Imsouane for grabbing your Friday couscous or a tagine. The boys running the show will fill your bellies and treat you to a little local hospitality.

Recommend: Couscous Royale – shared with a bunch of hungry mates.

Surfside Sushi

Best for Healthy and Fresh options

Japanese cuisine in Morocco sounds a bit suss to me. Yet, Surfside Sushi left me pleasantly surprised. It’s a small restaurant just behind the fisherman’s port, with a shaded rooftop that just manages to secure ocean views. They have a pretty robust selection of sushi, noodles and curries – all of which look pretty bang on. Highly recommend when you’re craving something fresh.

Recommend: Any of their sushi rolls.
