Best Cafes and Restaurants in Mirleft, Morocco
Last Updated on 23rd January 2026 by Jessie
Wondering where to eat in Mirleft? This guide rounds up the best cafés and restaurants in town – whether you’re after fresh seafood, tajines, or a sunset espresso.
For a relatively small village, Mirleft has loads of great places to eat. Most of the cafes and restaurants in Mirleft are situated on two main streets in the town centre, with a few stray coffee shops near the beaches.
The majority of cafes and a fair few restaurants are catered to locals. So you’ve got a pretty good chance of finding some cheap, authentic and incredible Moroccan cuisine. But if you’re all tagined-out and craving some pasta or avo toast, you can source that too. For the best of both worlds, here are my recommendations for the best cafes and restaurants in Mirleft.

Moroccan Travel Essentials
- First and foremost, get travel insurance with SafetyWing. They’re super affordable and one of the few companies that let you buy insurance mid-trip.
- Book the dreamiest Moroccan abode on Booking.com. They’re my go-to for accomodation because you can save loooaads with their loyalty discounts.
- Or if you’re after the one-stop-shop, BookSurfCamps is the best place to find surf camp packages in Morocco.
- Find the best local tours with GetYourGuide. It’s the easiest way to visit places like Paradise Valley or Timlalin Dunes.
- Make sure you’re connected as soon as you get off the plane with Airalo’s Moroccan eSIM.
- Set up a Wise travel card to save on international transaction fees.
- And if you’re working online (or want to watch Netflix in your downtime) I highly recommend getting set up with a SurfShark VPN.
And you’re sorted.
Best Cafes and restaurants in Mirleft

1. Tifawin Cafe
Best for Breakfast
I love this place. It’s the perfect amalgamation of Moroccan cuisine and all the fresh foods you crave from your local cafe back home. E.g. traditional msemen, but folded into a sandwich with egg and avocado. By no means conventional, but yum as.
Tifawin Cafe also serves fruit salad and muesli bowls, a little less common around these parts. Plus a selection of fresh juices and smoothies. And despite being a tourist hotspot, everything is super cheap. There’s nothing on the menu over 35dh (€3.50).
Recommend: Tifawin Omelette (Berber omelette by any other name) for 25dh (€2.50).

2. ZANZAN Coffee
Best for Coffee
Zanzan Coffee has a similar atmosphere to Tifawin – laidback, surf-vacationer vibes. A welcoming place to sit, have a coffee, read a book, and enjoy your time. Their menu is a little more diverse, offering pasta, octopus salad, mussels and other seafood dishes.
Zanzan has a handful of tables out the front, perfect for sitting back and watching the Mirleft world go by. They also have an impressive book selection inside. Though unfortunately, all in French.
Recommend: Your coffee of choice and a slow morning.

3. Le Soleil d’Or
Best for Mint Tea
This is predominantly a seafood restaurant, so I fear I’m underselling them here. But the menu at Le Soleil d’Or pales in comparison to the location. Of all the cafes and restaurants in Mirleft, this is hands-down the best spot to while away your time.
Situated down on Aftas Beach, Le Soleil d’Or has an open-front restaurant overlooking the surf. Or for primo surf-watch, there are a few tables perched out on the sand. Absolutely dreamy.
Recommend: Breakfast and a pot of mint tea.

4. Café Restaurant Essalam
Best for Local Cuisine
Café Restaurant Essalam is your go-to for cheap and authentic Moroccan cuisine. It’s where the locals eat. If you want to try a proper tagine or couscous in Mirleft, Essalam is a good shout.
The owner is lovely, the portions are generous, and the food is an absolute bargain. You can get a 1kg beef tagine for 130dh (€13). Family holiday in Mirleft? That’s your meal budget sorted.
Recommend: Chicken tagine and Moroccan salad for 36dh (€3.60).

5. Tafugla Grillade & Restaurant
Best for Seafood
Sitting on a vast stretch of Atlantic coastline, most of the cafes and restaurants in Mirleft take advantage of the abundant fresh seafood. But for the best quality, you’ve got to hit up Tafluga Grillade.
Great service, great atmosphere, and the food is incredible. For locally caught seafood in a cosy restaurant, the prices are super reasonable.
Recommend: Grilled calamari and zaalouk salad for 115dh (€11.50).

6. Momo Delicias
Best for a Feast
Several people have left reviews claiming ‘Best tagine in Mirleft’, which is a huge call because so many of the cafes and restaurants in Mirleft nail it. So that’s gotta say something. Everything at Momo Delicias is cooked with love and care and a whole lot of flavour.
The couscous and tagines are works of art, and they serve camel kebabs, wild. It’s the kind of place best enjoyed with company. So gather your friends and enjoy a lavish Moroccan feast.
As with most labours of love, the cooking takes time. I advise dropping in earlier in the day (or grabbing Momo’s number from the shopfront) and ordering your food in advance.
Recommend: Lamb and prune tagine for 80dh.

7. Café Centre El Houari
Best for Msemen
If you’ve not yet tried msemen during your Moroccan sojourn, you have been sorely wasting your time. Msemen is Morocco’s iteration of a crêpe, but more akin to paratha or roti bread.
It’s often served with honey and olive oil, but the real showstopper, in my opinion, is the vegetable variety. The spiced veg mix is folded into the layers of pastry before grilling. The best. And Café Restaurant El Houari is the best place to get yours in Mirleft.
Recommend: Msemen aux légumes for 5dh (€0.50).

8. Hotel Restaurant Abertih
Best for Alcohol
In all honesty, I haven’t set foot in this place. But Hotel Restaurant Abertih has earned its place on this list for being the literal only cafe or restaurant in Mirleft that sells wine. And one of two that sells any alcohol at all. Bit of a Steven Bradbury move.
Apparently, the food is very good too. Mostly Moroccan cuisine, heavy on the seafood. And they’ve got a great rooftop.
Recommend: You’re going to have to trust your own instincts for this one.

9. Délices Mirleft
Best for Treaties
Not quintessentially Moroccan, but Délices Mirleft should have a spot on your bucket list nonetheless. They have an overwhelming selection of cakes, pastries and biscuits. Expect to have a hard time.
Everything is super cheap, so your arm is ultimately twisted. Délices Mirleft is situated on the main road, making it the perfect after-dinner/post-grocery run/literally any occasion pitstop.
Recommend: Lavish, over-the-top choc bikkie for 8dh (€0.80)
