Moroccan Travel Essentials
- First and foremost, get travel insurance with SafetyWing. They’re super affordable and one of the few companies that let you buy insurance mid-trip.
- Book the dreamiest Moroccan abode on Booking.com. They’re my go-to for accomodation because you can save loooaads with their loyalty discounts.
- Or if you’re after the one-stop-shop, BookSurfCamps is the best place to find surf camp packages in Morocco.
- Find the best local tours with GetYourGuide. It’s the easiest way to visit places like Paradise Valley or Timlalin Dunes.
- Make sure you’re connected as soon as you get off the plane with Airalo’s Moroccan eSIM.
- Set up a Wise travel card to save on international transaction fees.
- And if you’re working online (or want to watch Netflix in your downtime) I highly recommend getting set up with a SurfShark VPN.
And you’re sorted.
What to Expect at a Surf Camp
Most of the surf camps in Tamraght offer the same packages, with the same itineraries, so I’ll give you the standard breakdown. Note that each place will vary slightly, with excursions and meals sometimes charged as an additional fee. So make sure you double-check that the package is perfect for you before booking.
The three main packages offered are:
- Surf coaching – suited for beginner and intermediate surfers.
- Surf guiding – suited for advanced/competent surfers.
- Surf and yoga.
See my month-by-month breakdown of the best times to surf in Morocco.
Surf Coaching Packages Include:
- Daily surf lessons with a local instructor – tailored to your level of experience.
This includes transport to and from the beaches around Tamraght, with the instructors choosing the best surf spot for the day, depending on the conditions. - Wetsuit and board hire. So you can pack light.
- Breakfast and dinner at the surf camp.
These are typically family-style feasts of authentic Moroccan dishes, and often with more variety than you’ll find on the menus in cafes and restaurants in Tamraght. Often, the surf camps will host a rooftop barbecue one night a week. And most places will cater to your dietary requirements. - Packed lunches for your days at the beach.
- Accommodation at the surf house.
Advertised prices for packages are usually for a bed in a shared dormitory, with additional costs for a private room. - Airport transfers from Agadir.
See this post for all transport options for getting to Tamraght. - Day trips and other activities.
The surf camps will often offer day trips to Paradise Valley, Imsouane, and Souk El Had in Agadir. As well as opportunities to go sandboarding at the dunes near Tamri, or hiking up the mountain to watch the sunset.
Surf Guiding Packages Include:
All of the above, but rather than surf lessons, your guide will drive you to the surf spots, fill you in on the wave conditions and give you free rein. You’ll have access to a far greater variety of surf breaks than those frequented by beginner surfers. This could include any of the numerous surf spots from Anza all the way up the coast to Imsouane.
Surf and Yoga Packages Include:
As above, but with the addition of yoga classes with a qualified instructor. Often these are both morning and evening, making the most of the views from your rooftop terrace.

Surf Camps in Tamraght Without a Package
If you don’t want to commit to the full itinerary of a package, then most surf camps in Tamraght can be booked purely as accommodation only. You can then opt in to the surf lessons, or other daily activities as you please. You’re free then to just go wherever the weather takes you and allow space for your own exploring. L’humdulilah.

Best Surf Camps in Tamraght
The options for surf camps in Tamraght are vast, and a little overwhelming. So whilst I haven’t stayed at any of these camps, I have scoured Booking.com and delved into the perks that each has to offer to pick out my top three favourites. Feel free to follow my recommendations – or not, it’s your holiday.
1. Crocro Surf Camp Maroc

Surf Coaching Package: €350/7 nights
Surf and Yoga Package: €331/6 nights
Surf and Yoga Package: €168/3 nights
If I were booking a surf camp in Tamraght, I’d be chasing an unfathomable value for money package that immerses me deep in the groove of the village. Crocro Surf Camp delivers exactly that. Their 7-day surf and yoga package starts at €331, and includes all meals and accommodation. Isn’t that mental?
But bargain aside, Crocro’s is also one of the best-rated surf camps in Tamraght. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. With the quality and consistency of surf lessons, you’re guaranteed to significantly improve your skills. And the food is so good that guests reckon it’s not worth eating anywhere else in town!
If I wanted a cheap, but bang-on surf camp experience in Tamraght – Crocro Surf Camp would be it.
2. Moana Surf Maroc

Surf Coaching Package: €450/6 nights
Surf Guiding Package: €450/6 nights
Surf & Yoga Package: €580/6 nights
Another beautifully designed surf camp. It’s open and airy, with no bunk beds in the dorm which is always a plus. From the surf house, it’s only a 10–15 minute walk down to the beach. This is something to be mindful of as the village of Tamraght spreads up a large hill, which can mean big hikes back to some accommodations. The ‘Surf & Yoga’ package offers daily yoga classes, rather than just a few throughout the week like some of the other surf camps in Tamraght. It also includes a trip to Paradise Valley and/or Imsouane.
3. Good Wave Surf House

Surf Coaching Package: €450/7 nights
Surf Guiding Package: €345/7 nights
This one looks like it has the authentic ‘surf traveller’ feel to it. Less of a boujee holiday, and more getting amongst it with the locals. It’s situated up on the hill so you’ve got epic views from the rooftop terrace. Previous guests rave about the food, the friendly hosts, the good vibes, and the guarantee that the experienced surf instructors will get you riding waves ASAP.
