Nightlife and Bars in Imsouane: The Complete List

Last Updated on 24th January 2026 by Jessie

Looking for nightlife in Imsouane? While it’s a quiet surf village, this guide shares the best low-key spots to grab a drink or catch some live music after dark.

At this point in time, there is only one place to drink alcohol in Imsouane! Apologies to anyone whom I swindled with false information prior to my updating this post in December 2025.

Alcohol in bars and restaurants in Morocco tends to be a little expensive. More than you would expect relative to the wider cost of living, anyhow. But considering that Morocco is an Islamic country and alcohol is haram, the difficulty in obtaining bar licenses and the subsequent price hikes make total sense.

  1. First and foremost, get travel insurance with SafetyWing. They’re super affordable and one of the few companies that let you buy insurance mid-trip.
  2. Book the dreamiest Moroccan abode on Booking.com. They’re my go-to for accomodation because you can save loooaads with their loyalty discounts.
  3. Or if you’re after the one-stop-shop, BookSurfCamps is the best place to find surf camp packages in Morocco.
  4. Find the best local tours with GetYourGuide. It’s the easiest way to visit places like Paradise Valley or Timlalin Dunes.
  5. Make sure you’re connected as soon as you get off the plane with Airalo’s Moroccan eSIM.
  6. Set up a Wise travel card to save on international transaction fees.
  7. And if you’re working online (or want to watch Netflix in your downtime) I highly recommend getting set up with a SurfShark VPN.

And you’re sorted.

Bars in Imsouane

Tasra Auberge

Tasra Surf and Flow - the only bar in Imsouane.

Tasra is located at the north end of the village, overlooking Cathedrals. It’s a hostel/hotel with a restaurant and bar attached, giving them the absolute monopoly on places to buy alcohol in Imsouane. They often host live music at the bar, and it’s open to the public.

Nightlife in Imsouane

When I visited two years ago, Imi Bay and Olo Surf & Nature were the go-to spots to perch up with a cold beer and watch the sun set over The Bay. Alas, on my recent return, I discovered that the liquor licences for these two restaurants had been revoked. Well, that’s not the exact story – there’s a bit more local politics/surf camp rivalry involved – but that’s the gist.

Nevertheless, Imi Bay and Olo Surf & Nature are still great venues with primo sunset viewing. I highly recommend feasting on a burger at Imi Bay whilst watching the last of the long boarders work their magic at dusk.

Boutique Hotel with Restaurant

Imi Bay is one of a handful of Imsouane surf hotels with primo surf watch real estate, perched up on the cliffs above the dreamy Magic Bay. The ground-floor lobby at Imi Bay doubles as a restaurant, with shady tables out the front to maximise the views.

The menu at Imi Bay offers loads of fresh options, with an emphasis on local seafood. They also serve the usual pizza, burgers and pasta, to keep everyone happy. Unfortunately, they no longer serve beer and wine.

Boutique Hotel with Restaurant

Olo Surf & Nature is another swanky surf hotel, with an open-air restaurant out the front. Both restaurants are much of a muchness, with the same laidback but semi-boujie atmosphere, similar menus and similar prices. I’d recommend opting for the one where you can score a seat with the best surf views.

Olo Surf & Nature holds the occasional live music event, hosting a rotation of traditional Gnaoua bands and international musicians. Keep an eye on their socials to find out what’s happening.

Your next best bet for a little nightlife in Imsouane is your hostel rooftop. There isn’t much action in the village itself, so if you’re after a social atmosphere, I suggest staying at one of the busier hostels – like Easy Going or Afer Surf Hostel. Or for the full communal experience, try one of the surf camps.

Where to Buy Alcohol in Imsouane

There is nowhere to buy takeaway alcohol in Imsouane. Your closest options for liquor stores are Essaouira and Agadir. I suggest stocking up on a couple of beers or a bottle of wine before heading to Imsouane
