Taxis From Agadir Airport: Everything You Need to Know

Last Updated on 4th November 2025 by Jessie

Need a taxi from Agadir Airport? This guide explains how much it costs, where to find one, how to book, and your best options for getting to the city or coast.

Agadir Al Massira Airport is a popular entry point for those visiting Morocco’s surf coast. The airport is located 25km from Agadir city centre; however, there is a taxi rank with fixed prices, making onward travel a breeze.  Below, I’ve answered all your pressing questions about catching taxis from Agadir Airport.

  1. First and foremost, get travel insurance with SafetyWing. They’re super affordable and one of the few companies that let you buy insurance mid-trip.
  2. Book the dreamiest Moroccan abode on Booking.com. They’re my go-to for accomodation because you can save loooaads with their loyalty discounts.
  3. Or if you’re after the one-stop-shop, BookSurfCamps is the best place to find surf camp packages in Morocco.
  4. Find the best local tours with GetYourGuide. It’s the easiest way to visit places like Paradise Valley or Timlalin Dunes.
  5. Make sure you’re connected as soon as you get off the plane with Airalo’s Moroccan eSIM.
  6. Set up a Wise travel card to save on international transaction fees.
  7. And if you’re working online (or want to watch Netflix in your downtime) I highly recommend getting set up with a SurfShark VPN.

And you’re sorted.

Do I Need to Book Ahead?

No. There are ample taxis waiting at the designated taxi stand at all hours of the day and night. Simply walk outside of the arrivals hall and you will find a fleet of Grand taxis (the big white people mover kind).

Which Companies are Best?

There is no differentiation by taxi company. All Grand taxis at the Agadir Airport are government-regulated and charge the same flat rate fee.

Can I Pay with Card?

No, all taxi fares in Morocco must be paid with cash. The taxi drivers from Agadir Airport will accept Dirhams or Euros. There are ATMs within the airport to withdraw money, as well as currency exchange desks.

Wherever you travel, I recommend withdrawing the local currency directly from your debit card to avoid additional fees. Ideally you want a bank that offers free international withdrawals.

For Australians, I highly recommend Up Bank. They’re the bank I use, and they’ve saved me so much money in international transaction fees.

Is it Safe to Catch a Taxi from Agadir Airport?

Totally. The taxis from Agadir Airport are safe and reliable. The fixed-price fares prevent drivers from overcharging you, and you don’t need to worry about bartering. Most taxi drivers speak decent English or French and will know the route to most hotels in Agadir and other destinations.

How Much are Taxis from Agadir Airport?

The fares for taxi rides from Agadir Airport are fixed at a set rate depending on your destination. The rate is for the entire car, so if travelling alone it’s best to buddy up with others headed in the same direction.

There is an extra fee of 20dh (€2) for each large piece of luggage.

As an aside, Grand taxis in Morocco don’t use meters. It’s common practice to agree on a price before travel.

Whilst the airport taxis follow a set pricing guide, the fares are based on foreigner budgets. This is a disadvantage to locals who aren’t able to front the cost.

For a cheaper alternative, I recommend catching the Aerobus to Agadir city centre and then taking a taxi to your final destination. See full details for the airport bus.

Bus from Agadir Airport

It is also possible to catch a bus from Agadir Airport to the main bus station of Agadir (Gare Routière). Buses depart from the airport every hour between 8.00am and 1.00am and the journey takes 50 minutes.

Tickets cost 50dh (€5) for one-way, and 80dh (€8) for a round-trip. You can purchase tickets onboard from the driver, or at the desk inside the airport.

Private Taxis from Agadir Airport

Alternatively, if you’re one who prefers the peace of mind of booking in advance, you can opt for a private transfer from Agadir Airport to your accommodation.

I recommend booking through GetTransfer.com. They’re super simple to book online. You can choose the size of vehicle, see previous customer reviews and lock in a price, so you know exactly what to expect when you get off the plane.

See their website to get an exact quote for the fare to your destination.

Bon voyage.
