Where to Stay in Imsouane, Morocco

Last Updated on 25th January 2026 by Jessie

My top recommendations for where to stay in Imsouane – for every breed of traveller and budget.

The urban landscape of Imsouane has changed dramatically over the past few years. Almost all of the makeshift fisherman’s shacks have been demolished, with modern apartment blocks popping up in their place.

It’s disconcerting to witness the speed of gentrification. And a damn shame to see the modest charm of Imsouane’s foundations swept away amongst the rubble.

Alas, the magic of Imsouane lies in the incredible natural landscape and the dreamy rolling right-hander. And fortunately, that remains unchanged. So, for all would-be visitors to this piece of Moroccan paradise, here is my guide to the best accommodation in Imsouane.

  1. First and foremost, get travel insurance with SafetyWing. They’re super affordable and one of the few companies that let you buy insurance mid-trip.
  2. Book the dreamiest Moroccan abode on Booking.com. They’re my go-to for accomodation because you can save loooaads with their loyalty discounts.
  3. Or if you’re after the one-stop-shop, BookSurfCamps is the best place to find surf camp packages in Morocco.
  4. Find the best local tours with GetYourGuide. It’s the easiest way to visit places like Paradise Valley or Timlalin Dunes.
  5. Make sure you’re connected as soon as you get off the plane with Airalo’s Moroccan eSIM.
  6. Set up a Wise travel card to save on international transaction fees.
  7. And if you’re working online (or want to watch Netflix in your downtime) I highly recommend getting set up with a SurfShark VPN.

And you’re sorted.

Which Area to Stay in Imsouane

In terms of which area of Imsouane to stay, the village is so small that it really doesn’t matter all that much. The town of Imsouane sits on a little peninsula, which means there’s plenty of oceanfront accommodation. There is a row of hotels lining the cliff overlooking The Bay, and a few surf houses on the west side just above Cathedrals

Any accommodation that sits directly in front of the ocean will come with a bit of a price hike. However, almost all hostels and homestays will come equipped with a rooftop terrace with ocean views. So, if you’re on a budget but still want to maximise on the coastal ambience, just opt for a great rooftop.

Make sure you check the location of your Imsouane accommodation on a map when you’re booking, as there are a few luxury camps like Berber Beldi Camp and Bergerie that are a few kilometres out of the village.

Bar those few exceptions, all accommodation options in Imsouane are within 10 minutes walking distance from the beach and restaurants. So once you’ve made your way to Imsouane, there’s no need for a car.

Best Accommodation for Solo Travellers in Imsouane

There isn’t a huge social atmosphere in Imsouane. There’s one bar where you can buy alcohol, and the occasional live music night or community event at Olo Surf & Nature or Imi Bay. But beyond that, hostels are your best opportunity for a yarn or a surf buddy.

My top picks for Imsouane hostels with a more social environment are Easy GoingLight House, and Afer Surf Hostel. All come in at under €20 per night for a bed in a dorm. Easy Going includes breakfast, and the latter two offer it for an additional 50dh (€5). All are clean and comfy, with a laidback vibe, and often host rooftop jam sessions in the evening.

If you’re able to splurge a little, The Moroccan Surf House is possibly the most deluxe dorm option in Imsouane. It’s got the dreamiest decor, an epic breakfast and frontline views of Magic Bay. The Moroccan Surf House is €25 per night for a bed in a dorm, but you get what you pay for.

Best Surf Camps in Imsouane

If you’re a beginner surfer, I highly recommend booking a surf camp in Imsouane. From personal experience, you’re far more likely to get in the water each day if you have someone removing all the barriers for entry. I.e. organising surfboard and wetsuit hire, and choosing the optimal time and swell conditions.

The standard packages include meals and accommodation, daily surf lessons and gear hire, and a yoga session or two thrown in. Moroccan surf camps tend to be really good value for money, and are ideal if you’re travelling solo.

Starting from the top, if it’s within your budget, The O is hands down the dreamiest surf camp in Imsouane. They’ve staked their claim on the best piece of real estate in Imsouane, directly overlooking The Bay. You can book a room at The O and add on surf lessons and yoga classes as you please, or keep an eye out for one of their all-inclusive multi-day retreats.

For something a bit more accessible, I recommend The Little Kasbah if you’re after a yoga-heavy surf holiday. Their 8-Day Surf & Yoga package starts at €494 p/p. Or if you’re deadset on learning the fundamentals of surfing, Clapo Surf Camp is my top pick for getting you up on a wave.

Best Accommodation for Couples in Imsouane

I envy anyone who travels to Morocco with a partner. Firstly, because the novelty of it all is so much funner when shared. But secondly, because you can score way better accommodation when you’re able to split the cost of a room in two.

For the lucky ones, please do yourself a favour and check out Dreamsea Imsouane. In a town of lifeless apartment replicas, Dreamsea is hands-down the funkiest accommodation in Imsouane. You can choose between a boujee little tent, a glass-front bungalow, or a shack repurposed from an old fishing boat.

Situated just north of Cathedrals, all rooms at Dreamsea have ocean views and start from just €45 per night. Breakfast is included, and you can opt to partake in communal lunch and dinners. Or you can go all in and book one of their surf camp packages.

Imsouane Wood House.

I almost booked Imsouane Wood House with a friend, lured in by the Moroccan rugs and wooden Amazigh-carved furnishings. But alas, I had to be a little more savvy with my money. They’ve got a pool, some rooms with ocean views, and it’s just a one-minute walk from Cathedrals surf break.

Again, I have to recommend The Moroccan Surf House. Their double rooms start at only €50 per night, with breakfast included. And for that price, the decor, location and ocean views are unsurpassed.

Best Accommodation for Groups in Imsouane

Travelling as a group has got to be the ultimate budget hack in Morocco. As mentioned earlier, Imsouane is rife with apartment blocks. Which means there are loads of great options for those wanting to rent out an entire apartment.

Imsouane Surf Paradise is on the exier end of the spectrum, with a sea view apartment setting you back €140 per night. But split that between six people and you’re laughing.

For something a little more economically savvy, I’d go for a two-bedroom apartment at Villa Azzurra. Pretty simple, but super homely, and you can still sneak some ocean views from the balcony. Only €60 per night with space for 5 people. Insane!

Best Luxury Accommodation in Imsouane

I feel a bit hesitant recommending the lavish, expensive hotels in Imsouane because I’m wary of diverting money from the locals to the pockets of foreign investors. However, the top end of the spectrum is where accommodation gets really exciting in Imsouane.

So, I will caveat these suggestions with a plea to support locally owned businesses as much as possible during your travels. Dine at Moroccan-owned restaurants, tip the roving musicians and buy a few knick-knacks when you can.

Ethics aside, if you’re willing to splash some cash, you cannot go past Berber Beldi Camp. This luxury eco-camp is 10km from Imsouane village, so it’s not conducive to daily surfs unless you’ve got a car. I stayed in one of the Berber tents, and it was absolutely dreamy.

The tent was cleaner and comfier than pretty much any four-walled abode I’ve stayed at in Morocco. You’re treated to the most peaceful, starry-skied evenings, and they home-cook super yummy Moroccan feasts on site. Amongst endless nights in budget hostels, it was well worth a splurge for a stay at Berber Beldi Camp.

For a swanky spot in the village, again I would have to recommend The O. Dreamy stone wall exteriors that feel in step with the panoramic view of the cliffs and misty mornings over Morocco’s most celebrated wave.

They have their own private cafe on site, serving healthy, nourishing meals. Plus an oceanfront terrace that secludes guests into a bubble of quietude amidst the busy village centre. Rooms at The O sell out fast, so make sure you book ahead.
