Last Updated on 27th January 2026 by Jessie
A short overview of all yoga classes on offer in Taghazout, including weekly schedules, pricing and class packages.
I feel like every second woman I meet in Taghazout or Tamraght is a yoga teacher, so there’s certainly no shortage of yoga classes in the area. As with all booming coastal towns, wherever the surfers go, the yogis soon follow.
Whether you’re desperate for a little post-surf stretch or you’re looking for something beyond the waves to pass your time, here’s a list of all the studios offering drop-in yoga classes in Taghazout.
I use affiliate links throughout my posts. This means that if you make a purchase through any of the links, I’ll get paid a small percentage – with no additional cost to you. I appreciate any and all support to keep me afloat so I can continue bringing honest, accurate travel tips to you.
Moroccan Travel Essentials
- First and foremost, get travel insurance with SafetyWing. They’re super affordable and one of the few companies that let you buy insurance mid-trip.
- Book the dreamiest Moroccan abode on Booking.com. They’re my go-to for accomodation because you can save loooaads with their loyalty discounts.
- Or if you’re after the one-stop-shop, BookSurfCamps is the best place to find surf camp packages in Morocco.
- Find the best local tours with GetYourGuide. It’s the easiest way to visit places like Paradise Valley or Timlalin Dunes.
- Make sure you’re connected as soon as you get off the plane with Airalo’s Moroccan eSIM.
- Set up a Wise travel card to save on international transaction fees.
- And if you’re working online (or want to watch Netflix in your downtime) I highly recommend getting set up with a SurfShark VPN.
And you’re sorted.

In-House Yoga Classes
Your first port of call for yoga classes in Taghazout is at your hostel or surf camp. Most hostels will offer rooftop yoga classes as an additional add-on. They usually charge about 100dh-150dh (€10-€15). If not, they’ll be able to point you in the direction – maybe to a fellow hostel that they’re in cahoots with.

Almost all surf camps in Taghazout will include daily yoga sessions in their week-long packages. Usually, it’s a sunset session on the rooftop to unwind after a day in the surf.

Or if you’d rather yoga to be the predominant focus of your holiday, with a little surfing thrown in on the side, there are a couple of companies running full-on yoga retreats in Taghazout.
Local Vs Foreign Yoga Instructors
There are far fewer Moroccan yoga teachers in Taghazout than foreign teachers, but if you have the opportunity, it’s best to support the locals when you can. Surf camps tend to have a preference for European/Australian/etc. yoga teachers, perceiving them to be more legitimate in their practice. Which doesn’t add up, as yoga is no more inherent to our cultures than it is to Moroccans’.
The paid positions tend to be filled by expats, making it difficult for local instructors to find work. The situation is amplified by foreigners moving here and setting up their own yoga studios or retreats – removing all opportunity for money to flow back into the local community. Not to mention the impact this has on the rental market and cost of living as wealthier expats hike the prices up.
I feel a bit hypocritical, as most of the yoga studios I’ve listed below employ foreign instructors. But it’s something to be mindful of as a visitor to Morocco. And if you’re an expat hoping to capitalise on Tamraght and Taghazout’s booming tourism industry, perhaps take a moment to reconsider.
