The Best Surf Camps in Taghazout, Morocco for 2026
Last Updated on 9th February 2026 by Jessie
Looking for the best surf camps in Taghazout, Morocco? Here are my top picks based on guest reviews, value for money and quality surf coaching.
For better or worse, Taghazout is riddled with surf camps. Surf tourism is peaking in Morocco. Rental properties are relatively cheap, as are staff wages; thus, every man and their klb are capitalising on the influx of young frothing travellers by pursuing their own surf camp venture. It can be hard to separate the wheat from the chaff, so I have put in the hard yards for you and rounded up my top picks for the best surf camps in Taghazout.

I use affiliate links throughout my posts. This means that if you make a purchase through any of the links, I’ll get paid a small percentage – with no additional cost to you. I appreciate any and all support to keep me afloat so I can continue bringing honest, accurate travel tips to you.
Moroccan Travel Essentials
- First and foremost, get travel insurance with SafetyWing. They’re super affordable and one of the few companies that let you buy insurance mid-trip.
- Book the dreamiest Moroccan abode on Booking.com. They’re my go-to for accomodation because you can save loooaads with their loyalty discounts.
- Or if you’re after the one-stop-shop, BookSurfCamps is the best place to find surf camp packages in Morocco.
- Find the best local tours with GetYourGuide. It’s the easiest way to visit places like Paradise Valley or Timlalin Dunes.
- Make sure you’re connected as soon as you get off the plane with Airalo’s Moroccan eSIM.
- Set up a Wise travel card to save on international transaction fees.
- And if you’re working online (or want to watch Netflix in your downtime) I highly recommend getting set up with a SurfShark VPN.
And you’re sorted.
Top 5 Surf Camps in Taghazout
For a little transparency, I have not stayed at any of the surf camps listed below. I have, however, lived in Tamraght (Taghazout’s friendly neighbour), befriended the local surf instructors, and battled it out for a wave at Devil’s Rock, Banana Point and Panoramas. So I know the lay of the land. I have waded through reviews on BookSurfCamps and Waverick, applied a little local knowledge, and added a dash of word-of-mouth to bring forth the top surf camps that I would choose for a surf holiday in Taghazout.
1. Dfrost Almugar Surf & Yoga

Best Luxury Surf Camp
Dfrost Almugar Surf & Yoga is definitely one of the most boujee surf camps in Taghazout. It’s pricey, but you well and truly get what you pay for. You can choose from private or shared accommodation at Taghazout Villa or Seaside Boutique Hotel, both offering the dreamiest Moroccan-beach-mod dècor and ocean views.
Breakfast and dinner are served at Kitchen Club, a poolside restaurant popular amongst travellers chasing a cocktail sundowner or a jazzier night out in Taghazout. So your home base also doubles as a meeting point for mingling with other travelling babes (potentially).

The package includes twice-daily yoga sessions in Dfrost’s beautiful rooftop yoga shala, at sunrise and sunset, offering a restorative balance to your week of surfing. This would be a good option for those chasing a wellness-laced Moroccan getaway.
I would recommend Dfrost Almugar Surf & Yoga for travellers seeking a bit more of an upmarket surf experience. They offer a boutique holiday and surf mission in one, with all of your creature comforts catered for.

2. Surf Coast Morocco

Most Popular
Surf Coast Morocco is one of the most booked surf camps in Taghazout, and is very highly rated by previous guests! It’s really well organised with staff who go out of their way to make sure you feel at home. At €78 per night for a package that includes both daily surf lessons and yoga sessions, it’s fairly well priced.
You’ll notice that although some other surf camps in Taghazout advertise an ‘8-Day Surf Package’, they’re actually only taking guests surfing for 5 or 6 of those days. But if you’re coming to Taghazout serious about getting the fundamentals of surfing down pat, you want to spend as much time in the waves as possible.

All meals are included at Surf Coast Morocco (another variable in other surf packages), and they take you on group trips to Paradise Valley and Timlalin Dunes. So your only other expenses are getting to Taghazout and a little extra in the kitty for some Moroccan handmade knick-knacks.
If you’re looking for a surf camp with a solid reputation, Surf Coast Morocco is a safe bet. The staff are legends, the accommodation is great, and they’re perfectly positioned between Panoramas and Hash Point.

3. Harmony Surf Lodge

Best for Chilled Vibes
First thing to note, Harmony Surf Lodge is actually located in Imi Ouaddar, a coastal village about 9km north of Taghazout. So if you’re hoping to be in and amongst the hustle and bustle of Taghazout village itself, this probably isn’t the best option.
With that said, the main selling point of Harmony Surf Lodge is the dreamy, chilled atmosphere they achieve. Plus, you’ll be exploring the whole region anyway via daily surf trips, so you won’t be missing out at all.
The Harmony Surf Lodge is beautiful. It’s got a grassed backyard (an absolute rarity in Morocco) with sun lounges and a Berber tent for post-surf hangs. The property is backdropped by mountains, with epic views of the waves in front, so you’ve a 360° scenic vista.
The atmosphere is comfortable and chill, and the place is decked out with a rooftop terrace for sunset yoga sessions. Guests rave about the hospitality of the staff. You’re guaranteed professional surf coaching to advance your skills, incredible home-cooked meals, and loads of optional activities to fill in the gaps.

I would recommend Harmony Surf Lodge for those wanting to be placed in the safe hands of genuine, fun-loving hosts who prioritise good times. It’s one of the best rated surf camps in Taghazout, with guests coming back for second servings.

4. Amayour

Best for Social Atmosphere
If you want to maximise your chances of being surrounded by like-minded frothers, Amayour is your best bet. The Taghazout surf house has been hosting guests for years, and they’ve got the whole surf camp regime running like a well-oiled machine. So much so, that they’ve opened two more surf camps in Tamazirt (a small mountain village behind Taghazout) and in Tamraght.
There’s always a good energy at Amayour, between the group surf sessions and weekly rooftop barbecue nights, it’s one of the best options for a solid social atmosphere. Unsurprisingly, they’ve got a good reputation for repeat customers returning for second and third dips. And it’s also a popular choice for long-term visitors wanting to volunteer at a surf camp.
They’ve got a stylish little guest house right near Taghazout beach, with a rooftop optimising on the oceanfront views. Or for something a little more retreat-like, check out their Tamazirt camp. It’s a proper mountain oasis with a glass-windowed yoga shala and a backyard pool.

If you want to make friends, be amongst the action and know that you’re in highly competent hands, I’d recommend Amayour. Starting at €58 per night for the all-inclusive surf and yoga package, it’s super good value for money.

5. Teddy Pirate

Best for Digital Nomads
Teddy Pirate can be booked as a hostel alone – without the whole shebang of a surf package. But if you’re keen to get some waves whilst in Taghazout, Teddy Pirate does offer one of the best deals in the market. They include surf lessons every day, most of your meals, and the most extensive range of extracurricular activities.
Teddy Pirate advertises itself as more of a coliving space, and has designed the house accordingly. Effectively creating the dreamiest home-away-from-home destination you could hope for. The surf house is easily one of the most beautiful properties in Taghazout.

Situated right on Taghazout beach, all rooms have epic ocean views, and you can pop up to the rooftop terrace for a yoga sesh while the sun sets over the Atlantic. The charm of the place is equally matched with great staff, incredible food and bang-on hospitality.
I don’t recommend choosing a surf camp based on Instagrammability, but if you’re swayed by good aesthetics, Teddy Pirate is your man.

What to expect at a surf camp in Taghazout?
Most of the surf camps in Taghazout offer the same packages, with similar itineraries; so I’ll give you the standard breakdown. Note that the offerings of each surf camp will vary slightly, with excursions and meals sometimes charged as an additional fee. So make sure you double-check that the package has all the non-negotiables for you before booking.
The three main packages offered are:
- Surf coaching – suited for beginner and intermediate surfers.
- Surf guiding – suited for advanced/competent surfers.
- Surf and yoga.
See my month-by-month breakdown of the best times to surf in Morocco.
Surf Coaching Packages Include:
- Daily surf lessons with a local instructor – tailored to your level of experience.
This includes transport to and from the beaches around Taghazout, with the instructors choosing the best surf spot for the day, depending on the conditions. - Wetsuit and board hire. So you can pack light.
- Breakfast and dinner at the surf camp.
These are typically family-style feasts of authentic Moroccan dishes, and often with more variety than you’ll find on the menus in cafes and restaurants in Taghazout. Often, the surf camps will host a rooftop barbecue one night a week. And most places will cater to your dietary requirements. - Packed lunches for your days at the beach.
- Accommodation at the surf house.
Advertised prices for packages are usually for a bed in a shared dormitory, with additional costs if you opt for a private room. - Airport transfers from Agadir.
See this post for all transport options for getting to Taghazout. - Day trips and other activities.
The surf camp packages will often include day trips to Paradise Valley, Imsouane, and Souk El Had in Agadir. As well as opportunities to go sandboarding at the dunes near Tamri, or cooking classes.
Surf Guiding Packages Include:
All of the above, but rather than surf lessons, your guide will drive you to the surf spots, fill you in on the wave conditions and give you free rein. You’ll have access to a far greater variety of surf breaks than those frequented by beginner surfers. This could include any of the numerous surf spots from Anza all the way up the coast to Imsouane.
Surf and Yoga Packages Include:
As above, but with the addition of yoga classes with a qualified instructor. Often these are both morning and evening, making the most of the views from your rooftop terrace.
