Mirleft, Morocco: Your Ultimate Travel Guide
Last Updated on 28th July 2025 by Jessie
Visiting coastal Morocco? Mirleft combines quiet beaches, surf breaks, and small-town charm. This guide shares how to get there, where to eat and stay, and what to see along the coast.
Tucked between the Atlantic Ocean and the foothills of the Anti-Atlas mountains, Mirleft is an absolute underdog when it comes to Moroccan surf villages. It’s a town that moves at its own pace – slower, quieter, and infinitely more local than the bigger tourist hubs up north.
Whether you’re here to surf, eat, unwind, or just experience a slice of small-town Moroccan life, this travel guide covers everything you need to know about visiting Mirleft – with links to my deeper guides if you want to dive further.

Moroccan Travel Essentials
- First and foremost, get travel insurance with SafetyWing. They’re super affordable and one of the few companies that let you buy insurance mid-trip.
- Book the dreamiest Moroccan abode on Booking.com. They’re my go-to for accomodation because you can save loooaads with their loyalty discounts.
- Or if you’re after the one-stop-shop, BookSurfCamps is the best place to find surf camp packages in Morocco.
- Find the best local tours with GetYourGuide. It’s the easiest way to visit places like Paradise Valley or Timlalin Dunes.
- Make sure you’re connected as soon as you get off the plane with Airalo’s Moroccan eSIM.
- Set up a Wise travel card to save on international transaction fees.
- And if you’re working online (or want to watch Netflix in your downtime) I highly recommend getting set up with a SurfShark VPN.
And you’re sorted.
Where is Mirleft?
Mirleft is a small coastal town in southern Morocco, about 2.5 hours south of Agadir and 30 minutes north of Sidi Ifni. It’s perched on a clifftop overlooking the Atlantic, with rugged beaches stretching in both directions. The vibe is laid-back, warm, and unpretentious – the dream surf village.
How to Get to Mirleft
There are no train lines in the south of Morocco, but the bus company CTM offers twice daily trips from Agadir to Mirleft.
