Nightlife and Bars in Taghazout: Your Complete Guide
Last Updated on 30th January 2026 by Jessie
As a predominantly Islamic country, drinking alcohol is not part of the Moroccan culture. However, wherever Western tourists go – so too shall the supply of booze follow.
Whilst Tamraght remains a dry village – with none of the cafes or restaurants selling alcohol, you can find a bit of nightlife and a handful of bars in Taghazout. If you’re after a cold beer after a long day in the sun, here is your complete list of all such venues.
I use affiliate links throughout my posts. This means that if you make a purchase through any of the links, I’ll get paid a small percentage – with no additional cost to you. I appreciate any and all support to keep me afloat so I can continue bringing honest, accurate travel tips to you.
Moroccan Travel Essentials
- First and foremost, get travel insurance with SafetyWing. They’re super affordable and one of the few companies that let you buy insurance mid-trip.
- Book the dreamiest Moroccan abode on Booking.com. They’re my go-to for accomodation because you can save loooaads with their loyalty discounts.
- Or if you’re after the one-stop-shop, BookSurfCamps is the best place to find surf camp packages in Morocco.
- Find the best local tours with GetYourGuide. It’s the easiest way to visit places like Paradise Valley or Timlalin Dunes.
- Make sure you’re connected as soon as you get off the plane with Airalo’s Moroccan eSIM.
- Set up a Wise travel card to save on international transaction fees.
- And if you’re working online (or want to watch Netflix in your downtime) I highly recommend getting set up with a SurfShark VPN.
And you’re sorted.
Bars in Taghazout Village
Because of its location, nestled within a cove in Taghazout Bay, the village of Taghazout is super compact. All of the shops and restaurants are situated on one small main street or along the beachfront. This means that everyone hangs around this main hub, creating a bustling, social atmosphere in the peak seasons. Below you can find a list of all the hotels and bars in Taghazout village.
Munga’s Kitchen
Part of Munga Guesthouse, Munga’s Kitchen is located on the main road of Taghazout. Out of all the hotels and bars in Taghazout, Munga’s is the closest you’ll get to a typical pub. It’s casual, attracts a younger crowd, and the pizzas are great. For a more intimate dining experience, Munga’s sister restauran,t ‘The Favela’ is located upstairs on the rooftop.
Dfrost Almugar | Seaside Boutique Hotel

Belonging to Seaside Boutique Hotel, Dfrost Almugar has two dreamy venues perched along the Taghazout beachfront. Dfrost – Kitchen Club is a full restaurant serving mezze boards and a mix of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. On weekends, they often host DJs and other live music, some of which are ticketed. So keep an eye on their Instagram for upcoming events.

The second venue among Seaside’s clan is their Bohemian Berber Bar (BBB). This is a much more relaxed setting, with traditional Moroccan rugs and floor cushions laid out just above the shoreline. They serve tapas and cocktails, making for a pretty perfect picnic as you check out the surf or watch the sunset.

Amouage Bar & Kitchen

Just a hop, skip, and a jump from Dfrost is the equally stylish Amouage Bar & Kitchen. As an offshoot of Surf Maroc, Amouage is yet another boutique hotel bar in Taghazout that capitalises on its incredible beachfront location. The kitchen is open from 1pm to 9pm, serving mostly western fare with a focus on fresh and local ingredients. On Thursday nights Amouage hosts a barbecue for guests and non-guests alike. It’s 250dh (€25) a head; bookings must be made in advance.

World of Waves
Of the beachfront bars in Taghazout, World of Waves is the only one that can be accessed via the pathway that runs parallel to the ocean. This means that the restaurant gets a lot of foot traffic, creating more of a casual and dynamic atmosphere.
World of Waves hosts pop-up events and live music, and is super popular among the digital nomad community. Among the usual burgers and pasta, they serve up a few Moroccan staples, such as tagines and msemen. It’s probably the cheapest of the bars in Taghazout.

Travel Insurance in Morocco
A sunny, post-surf afternoon is synonymous with a cold beer. But for those adding booze to their overseas adventure, this is a quick reminder to make sure you’ve got your travel insurance sorted. SafetyWing is my go-to for medical coverage in Morocco. Their plans are affordable, flexible and can be purchased mid-trip. No brainer.
The Essential plan offers emergency medical insurance with flexible add-ons, while the Complete plan offers all-inclusive health insurance from mental health to maternity with extended coverage.
Bars in Taghazout Bay
Running parallel to Taghazout Bay, there is a boardwalk that connects Tamraght and Taghazout. Along this strip, you’ll find several big-name hotels. I’m more inclined to promote the smaller, independent hotels over these, as I’m sceptical as to how much of the tourism dirhams trickle down to the local community. Nonetheless, these big hotels include beachside bars that are accessible to the public, so I’ve included them in this list of bars in Taghazout.
Seaven Bar | Radisson Blu Resort

Seaven Bar belongs to Radisson Blu Resort, and of the big resort bars, it’s probably the most frequented by non-guests. They have a chilled, laid-back outdoor area, set back from Panorama Beach, from which they offer a selection of cocktails and tapas.
They often host pool parties and DJ gigs, so check out their Instagram for upcoming events. From the centre of Taghazout, it’s just a 20-minute walk along the corniche.
Carpe Diem | Radisson Blu Resort

Carpe Diem is another of Radisson Blu’s beachfront bars. This time, specialising in fruity cocktails. They have casual seating directly on the beach, offering the full Mediterranean beach bar experience. And they offer a menu of tapas to match.
Sud, KM 17 | Hyatt Regency Taghazout

Hyatt Regency offers Sud, Km 17 as your next boozy venue along the Taghazout boardwalk. It’s a restaurant and beach bar serving up French and Italian cuisine. Not quite the Moroccan dining experience I would opt for, but to each their own. At Hyatt Regency, you can also find La Vie en Bleu, a pool bar with a more casual atmosphere.
Calypso Beach Club | Hilton Beach Resort

Calypso Beach Club is the oceanfront venue of Hilton Taghazout Bay Beach Resort. There’s a large pool surrounded by all-white private cabanas. They offer a Tex-Mex menu (again, odd choice) and there’s often a DJ set up at the end of the pool. Calypso is more of a place for you and your private clique than somewhere to mingle with fellow travellers.

Pulse Nightclub | Hilton Beach Resort

Among the Hilton family, we also have Pulse – the only nightclub in the Taghazout Bay area. I have never had the honour of visiting, and I don’t suspect they receive all that many patrons. It does seem ignorantly out of step with the local community and culture. But if you want to go clubbing and aren’t keen on hitting up Agadir for the evening, then Pulse it is.
Where to Buy Alcohol in Taghazout and Tamraght
There are no liquor stores in either Tamraght or Taghazout. You can buy alcohol at Carrefour in Agadir, as well as at a few bottle shops. Taghazout is just a 20-minute drive from Tamraght – I’ve written about the bus and taxi routes to Agadir here.
